Ordinance to Regulate the Establishment, Operation and Maintenance of Non-conventional Onsite Sewage Disposal Systems (New Chapter 1067 of the Codified Ordinances of Loudoun County)

On November 3, 2008, the Board of Supervisors passed County Ordinance 1067 requiring annual inspectionsof "non-conventional" onsite systems.
The deadline for the inspection is June 30, 2009 and every year thereafter.
If you are a home owner covered by this ordinance, you should have received a letter advising you of the above. Inspections may be performed only by qualifying companies and they are listed on the NOTICE.
NON CONVENTIONAL systems are more complicated than conventional systems and include float switches, pumps, and other electrial or mechanical components are ofren used in non conventional systems. Non conventional systems should be inspected annually.
Fees for this required inspection start as low as $200 depending on the type of system installed on your lot. This fee includes cleaning of filters and sludge judge testing. This fee does not include any pumping, cleaning or repair. You will be in compliance.
IF YOU ARE NOT A PRIOR CUSTOMER OF MCKIM CONSTRUCTION, the fee for the required inspection in 2010 will be $200.
McKim Construction Company will file the required inspection report electronically with the Loudoun County Health Department and provide you, the home owner with a copy of the inspection report for your records.
We fully expect that inspection of traditional onsite sewage disposal systems will be enacted in due time, sooner rather than later.
