LOVETTSVILLE VA IS STILL IN WINTER WEATHER BUT I HAVE TULIPS BLOOMING IN MY SUN ROOM IN EARLY MARCH.

Back in early February, I brought the 4 pots of Tulips I was "forcing" in my garage.  I'm not sure of the date when these bulbs were planted but it would have been around November or early December.   I'd have planted them in the yard, but I just never got to it.  So, in the pots of soil they went, covered and placed on a table in my garage. 

Early February, I could see the "shoots"peeking through the soil, so I brought them in, watered them thoroughly, put them in a sheltered location in a corner of the Kitchen to avoid shock.   About 2 weeks ago, I put them in my Sun Room.

SHOOTING CLAY PIGEONS IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA.  DON'T LET THE SNOW KEEP YOU INSIDE!  GET OUT AND ENJOY THE DAY!

WHAT SPORT OR OUTDOOR ACTIVITY DO YOU REGULARLY ENJOY???

Golf?  It's a bit hard to walk or drive the links in this snow, but yesterday, I saw a driving range that was open for business. 

Swimming?  Join the Y.  Many have indoor pools.

Hiking?  Find a subdivision with cleared roads and don't challenge autos.

Fishing?  HA!  That one may have to wait, but you can certainly put new line on your favorite reel.  Spring will be here before you know it. 

Sledding?  My goodness, the opportunities are endless.

Shooting?  Bull Run Shooting Center in Centreville is open in almost all weather.

FOR ME??  I love to get to the shooting range and shoot TRAP or SKEET.  There are few shooters out in this weather.  However, if I don't have a buyer who wants to tour properties in my neighborhood and if the range is open, no matter what the weather, I'll be there on Saturday or Sunday, sometimes both.   

This past week has been tough for builders and few are open.  I will not take buyers on to icy walks to a model.  That builder has got to clean the walks before I'll risk injury to buyers (or myself).

HOW DO YOU SHOOT OUTDOORS IN 30 F. WEATHER???

JUST ADD ANOTHER LAYER. 

Shooting Trap on February 13th about 1:00 p.m.  The temperature was a cold 28 F. and the wind was about 10 mph.  However, with warm boots, gloves, a hat, three layers of clothing and a coating of Vaseline on my face to block the wind, I was comfy and got the practice in that I want every single week.  Yes, I missed last weekend only because I couldn't get out of my driveway. 

I got in 100 birds yesterday.  Good practice.
